Nyanya Bombing: Jonathan Summons Security Chiefs, DG NOA Visits Site, Hoists Symbolic Unity Flag

President Goodluck Jonathan has summoned security chiefs to a special security meeting following the May day bomb blast at Nyanya Abuja.

According to information by the President’s Spokesman, Reuben Abati (@abati1990), “the meeting on-going at the Villa”.

Meanwhile, In a show of unity in togetherness, the Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr. Mike Omeri has called on all citizens to be resolute and vigilant as he hoists symbolic unity flag at the blast site which signifies bond between Nigerians in the face of terrorist attacks.

Omeri made this appeal when he visited the site of the recent bomb blast that rocked Nyanya near the site of previous deadly attack.?

Omeri who bemoaned the ‘despicable’ act of terror, said the activity of the terror group was not the true reflection on the Nigerian people, while assuring that solution would soon be found to insurgency.

“We should be vigilant; I am confident that solution to insurgency. Our society had been quite peaceful. We should cultivate attitude of reporting suspicious objects and persons to security agencies to help their activities,” Omeri stressed.

At the scene in a chat with Force Public Relations Officer, Mr. Frank Mba, Omeri commended the security outfits, while Mba confirmed 19 people were lost in the incident ?with ’60 persons receiving treatment across the FCT.’

NOA boss expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, while he prayed for ‘speedy recovery’ of those injured.
