The Police has so far arrested and detained at least three (3) people at the State Criminal Investigation Department, CID over the incidents.

The late Bosun was shot on the head when members of another faction of the APC had stormed  Ajipowo area ward 2,  Akure complaining about the conduct of primaries. A police spokesperson, Wole Ogodo has confirmed the deceased was killed during the fracas at the Akure ward congress. He also confirmed the arrest of party members.

A faction of the party had pulled out of the congress citing marginalization as the reason of their pull-out. Some of the members of the faction which pulled out include:  Captain Demola Ariyo, Yemisi Aladesaye, Olalekan Obolo and Soji Ehinlanwo.

While reacting to the allegation of marginalization by the faction, the interim State Secretary of the Party, Prince Olu Adegboro referred to the defecting faction as jokers. He said no amount of sabotage would stop the ward congresses from holding as scheduled

The ward congresses yesterday were characterized by irregularities as members of the party fought one another and in some areas, the exercise had not even commenced as at 5pm.
