Top Richest Footballers in the World and Their Net Worth

Football is entertaining for fans, but it is a career and business for players. Over the years, the game has witnessed footballers moving from one club to another in search of either a better career or more money.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent move to Al-Nassr is not to compete in major competitions or contest for the Ballon d’Or award but to get more money.

5. Lionel Messi – $400 million

Arguably the greatest player of all time, Lionel Messi has so far only played for two major clubs in his career — Barcelona and Paris Saint-German (PSG).

Leo Messi’s contract with PSG is reported to be about €3.375million a month. The remaining source of his wealth could be linked to long-term deals with Adidas, Pepsi, MasterCard and Budweiser.

Messi is reportedly worth about $400 million.

4. David Beckham – $400 million

David Robert Joseph Beckham is an English former professional footballer, the current president and co-owner of Inter Miami CF and co-owner of Salford City.

He is also regarded as a fashion icon in the soccer industry.

Beckham who played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, LA Galaxy and Paris Saint-German (PSG) is reportedly worth about $400 million.

3. Cristiano Ronaldo – $500 million

Talking about wealth, Cristiano Ronaldo is first an influencer and second, a football player.

He has a massive social media following which makes him command lots of endorsement deals.

His current signing by Al-Nassr makes his salary worth about $213 million annually.

Al-Nassr has gained over 7 million followers on Instagram since signing C.Ronaldo.

Overall, Ronaldo’s net worth is estimated at around $500 million.

2. Mathieu Flamini – $12 billion

Mathieu Flamini retired from professional football in 2016. The former football midfielder player for French side Marseille, English sides Arsenal and Crystal Palace, Italian side Milan and Spanish side Getafe.

During his departure from Arsenal in 2016, Flamini had never lost a Premier League match at home for the club.

He is the co-founder of GF Biochemicals, the first company in the world able to mass-produce levulinic acid. 

Flamini is worth about $12 billion.

Faiq Jefri Bolkiah is the 24 years old nephew of the Sultan of Brunei.

The football midfielder who currently plays for Thai club, Chonburi, is reportedly the richest footballer with a net worth of £13 billion (about $16 billion).
