VIDEO, PHOTOs: Lagos police welcome defiant Yoruba Nation agitators with tear gas, gunshots, water cannon

Despite repeated threats by the Lagos government and Commissioner of Police in the state, relentless Yoruba Nation agitators were unbothered.
The agitators with banners reading “Oduduwa Republic Movement”, “Yoruba Nation” among others, at Ojota in Lagos, were welcomed by the police with teargas, gunshots, and water cannon.

Recall NewsWireNGR had earlier reported that the Nigerian security operatives were deployed en-mass to strategic locations in Lagos state ahead of the Yoruba Nation Rally.
NewsWireNGR gathered that the show of force by security operatives was conspicuous at the Gani Fawenhimi Freedom Park, at Ojota, in Lagos state, the venue of the rally.
Some of the security agencies deployed are: Nigerian Police Force operatives, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Department of State Services (DSS).
