Supreme Court declares Simi Fubara as duly elected governor of Rivers state

The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the election of Governor Simi Fubara of Rivers.

Justice Ibrahim Saulawa dismissed the appeal by the APC and its governorship candidate, Tonye Cole.

NewsWireNGR reports that Sim Fubara of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 302,614 votes to win the election in the Niger Delta state.

Coming behind Mr Fubara, Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress had 95,274 votes while Beatrice Itubo of the Labour Party scored 22,224 votes to come third.
