Catholic priest, Ejike Mbaka on Nigerian politicians and elections

Catholic priest, Ejike Mbaka, remains steadfast in his commitment to delivering what he refers to as “prophetic messages” on Nigerian politicians and elections, despite facing criticism for doing so.

As the spiritual director of Adoration Ministry Enugu, Mr. Mbaka has gained a reputation for frequently releasing these messages, addressing various political figures and election-related matters in the country.

During his crossover message for the New Year 2024 at the ministry’s grounds in Enugu, Mr. Mbaka expressed that he cannot control the occurrence of these messages and does not boast about them. He stated that they come to him sporadically and have been a part of his life even before he became a Catholic priest, unrelated to his priestly ordination.

Speaking mainly in the Igbo language, the Catholic priest defended himself against accusations of political interference. He emphasized that he merely delivers the messages as they are received from God.

Mr. Mbaka asserted that if he is tasked with delivering a specific message to someone like President Bola Tinubu, no earthly force can prevent him from doing so. He would faithfully convey the message exactly as it was given to him.

Furthermore, he clarified that if he is instructed to inform someone, even a close relative, that they will not win an election, he would first communicate it privately. However, if they refuse to heed his advice, he would publicly declare it to ensure that he is not counted among those who supported a failure. He firmly stated that he could never support a failure.

The Catholic priest emphasized that his ability to prophesy is not derived from his ordination as a priest. He has possessed this gift since his time in seminary school, as attested by his classmates.

It appears that Mr. Mbaka’s comments were directed at his previous scathing remarks about Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate. In June, he had declared that Mr. Obi would not win the presidential election due to being a “stingy man.”
