Inspector Nelson Abuante, a police officer, tragically took his own life after mistakenly shooting and killing his colleague, Inspector Monday Gbaramana, during an attempt to apprehend a suspect in Rivers State.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon in Nyogor-Lueku, Khana Local Government Area. Both officers, who were assigned to the Taabaa Division, had gone to Nyogor-Lueku to arrest Mr. Akere Akpobari based on allegations made against him by his mother.
