Ondo Assembly not divided over impeachment of Deputy Governor — Speaker

Speaker of the Ondo State House Of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, has dispelled rumours of the House being divided over the impeachment of the Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Oladiji said this while while addressing journalists in Akure on Friday.

He disclosed that Aiyedatiwa is currently working against processes for peace through several court litigations instituted against the Assembly.

Recall that, in a letter that surfaced on social media a few days ago, 11 out of the 26 members of the Ondo State House of Assembly dissociated themselves from a letter by the Speaker Oladiji Olamide, requesting the state Chief Judge, Justice Olusegun Odusola, to constitute a seven-man panel to investigate allegations of gross misconduct against Aiyedatiwa.

The development came days after the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, called warring parties for peace talks.
