Who is Nasir Gawuna?
Nasir Yusuf Gawuna is a Nigerian businessman and politician who served as the deputy governor of Kano State under Abdullahi Ganduje’s administration after the resignation of Professor Hafiz Abubakar.
The Kano Governorship Election Petition Tribunal on September 20, 2023, declared him the winner of the 2023 governorship election in the state after the victory of Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) was nullified.
Biography
Nasir Gawuna is a Nigerian health personnel who served as the deputy governor of Kano state from 2018 to 2023.

Dr Gawuna was born on August 6, 1967. He is 56 years old as of September 20, 2023.
Career
Gawuna served as the chairman of Nassarawa Local Government Area for 8 years under the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party ANPP. He worked with the three different governors of the state.
He assumed the position of Commissioner for Agriculture in 2014 and remained in office until August 5, 2018, when he was appointed as the deputy governor of Kano state.
The immediate past governor of the state, Ganduje, anointed him (Gawuna) on May 7, 2022, to be his successor in the 2023 Governorship Election in the state.
