The Police Command in Delta has apprehended eight suspected cultists and recovered weapons and other items from them.

The command’s Spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe, made the disclosure while briefing newsmen in Warri on Monday.

The police spokesman said that there was a reported case of inter-gang clash in Oghara which prompted the deployment of the tactical team.

He said that police operatives, in alliance with members of the local vigilance group, raided a black spot in the community and arrested a suspected cultist in the process.

Edafe said that upon interrogation, the suspect admitted to being a member of Black Axe Confraternity.

He stated that the suspect led the police to the hideouts of the other members of his gang.
