President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the nomination of four new Deputy Governors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), for a term of five (5) years at the first instance, pending their confirmation by the Nigerian Senate, as listed below:

(1) Mrs. Emem Nnana Usoro

(2) Mr. Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo

(3) Mr. Philip Ikeazor

(4) Dr. Bala M. Bello

Mrs. Emem Nnana Usoro

Who is Mrs. Emem Nnana Usoro?

Mrs Nnana Usoro started her career as Relationship Manager/ Team Leader, Commercial Banking at Platinum Bank. She worked in the bank between 2000 and 2004 after which she joined Bank PHB Plc (now defunct).

She joined UBA Group in 2010 as Regional Bank Head, CRA Bank & Akwa Ibom.

Emem Usoro, UBA’s Executive Director, Nigerian North Bank, boasts over 20 years’ banking experience spanning Customer Service, Retail, Commercial, Corporate Banking and Public Sector, covering all the regions in the country.

Before now, the astute banker, who joined UBA in 2011, has worn several hats. She was the Directorate Head, Abuja and North Central Bank and was also the Regional Director, Lagos Island region in charge of 32 branches in the Apapa and Lagos Island region, where she was responsible for developing, planning, and implementing strategies to grow and turn around ailing branches, amongst other activities. She has a strong track record of winning and executing high-powered transactions.

A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) with strong capabilities in business development, financial and business advisory, strategic planning and execution, Emem holds a B.Sc. degree in Biochemistry and an MBA degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and is also an alumnus of Lagos Business School and Harvard Business School. She has attended several international courses on Leadership, Corporate Credit, Marketing and Negotiation skills.

Mr. Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo

Who is Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo?

Dattijo as he is popularly known is a Nigerian public servant but an international development expert. He was born on Oct, 26th 1979 in Kaduna State, Nigeria.

Muhammad Sani Dattijo is 43 years old (as at 2022) and his Zodiac sign is Sagittarius. Muhammad Sani’s height is 1.80 m.

He is a politician and a father to 3 children. His parents are Farooq Abdullah and Princess Muna Al-Hussein.

Philip Ikeazor possesses 30 years of experience in the financial sector, having worked with various banks; serving as chief executive at Keystone Bank Limited in Nigeria and Ecobank Kenya.

Ikeazor also worked as executive director at Union Bank Nigeria and director of Union Bank UK Plc, before leaving the financial sector’s boardroom to join the governing board of the International Crop Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) in India.

He bolstered his career with certificates from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, while also becoming a fellow at the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.

Dr. Bala M. Bello

Who is Bala M. Bello?

Since starting his banking career in Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank), Bello has gone on to occupy various positions in the private sector, where he has more than 20 years of experience.

Within the two decades, Bello has worked for the Nigerian Export-Import Bank, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Sigma Pensions Ltd, Marine Capital Limited and Apricot Investments Limited.

A look at his educational background showed that he graduated from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, where he obtained a bachelor of science  (BSc) degree in accounting and an MBA.

His educational background extended to foreign shores, including Harvard Business School, where he secured a Leadership Program certificate. Others are the Wharton Business School, Richard Ivey School of Business, and Portfolio Management Academy.
