Chief of Staff: Gbajabiamila resigns from House of Reps after 20 years

The immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, and House of Representatives member representing Surulere 1 Federal Constituency in Lagos, has resigned his membership after 20 years in the Green Chamber.

It would be recalled that President Bola Tinubu appointed Gbajabiamila as his Chief of Staff, but the appointment letter was dated 14 June.

Gbajabiamila’s resignation was convened in a letter read by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas on Wednesday during plenary.

Abbas consequently declares Surulere 1 Federal Constituency seat vacant.

Gbajabiamila was first elected in 2003 and remained in the parliament for 20 years until his resignation today, Wednesday.
