Top Regions in Nigeria With Most Multidimensionally Poor People

Nigeria in the World Bank’s 2022 Poverty and Prosperity Report was noted to have added three million people to global extreme poverty, while the country is “home to a large share of the global extreme poor.”

A 2022 Global Hunger Index (GHI) ranked Nigeria 103 out of 121 countries.

Aside from this, statistics compiled by StatiSense, showed Nigeria has about 367 multidimensionally poor people per square mile in 2021.

Multidimensional Poverty Measure is an index that captures the percentage of households in a country deprived along three dimensions of well-being – monetary poverty, education, and basic infrastructure services – to provide a complete picture of poverty.
