10. Converse Fastbreak – $190,000

The Converse Fastbreak pairs were reportedly worn by 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, when Team USA took home the gold. This was prior to the time Jordan signed with Nike.

The shoes went up for auction in  2017, surpassing the expected $100,000 goal by selling for more than $190,000. 

9. Bill Bowerman handmade prototype logo track spikes – $315,000

These battered-looking pair of shoes were handmade by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman in the 1960s, and updated in the 1970s.

The shoes feature “waffle” soles under each set of track spikes – the first notable innovation introduced by Nike when they premiered the Nike Moon Shoe at the 1972 US Olympic Trials.

8. Louis Vuitton and Nike Air Force 1 – $350,000

Five pair of these shoes were auctioned for US$350,000 at Sotheby’s auction of the Louis Vuitton and Nike Air Force 1, along with a Louis Vuitton pilot case.

The sale turned out to be the most valuable charity auction at Sotheby’s in nearly 10 years, achieving a total of US$25.3 million in a 200-lot sale – 100 per cent of the proceeds will benefit The Virgil Abloh “Post-Modern” Scholarship Fund.

Nike co-founder Bowerman ingeniously poured rubber into his wife’s waffle maker to get the groundbreaking idea of studded soles. The Moon Shoe got its name from the resemblance between the waffle pattern left in the dirt and the famous tracks left on the moon by astronauts in 1969.

It was worn by Michael Jordan in his 1985 season. The pair was sold by Sotheby’s in 2020 for $560,000, and at the time became the most expensive shoes.

These Air Jordan Kobe Pack were dedicated to Kobe Bryant in 2016, celebrating his 20th anniversary in the NBA. The shoes were not available to the public and were only distributed to friends and family.

This pair was worn by Michael Jordan during his fifth NBA game in his rookie season on November 1, 1984 – before Nike finished the first Air Jordans. Avid trading card collector Nick Fiorella acquired these autographed sneakers in 2021.

This pair of Yeezys was worn by Kanye West at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards before Ye’s collaboration with Adidas.

Sotheby’s stated the pair was sold for over $1.8 million in a private sale to trainers’ investment platform Rares in April 2021.

The OVO x Air Jordans are crafted from 24k gold crafted by artist Matthew Senna, and are usually sold to musicians and actors.

The custom pair of shoes were sold to Drake in 2016.

1. Air Jordan 13s – $2.2 million

Air Jordan 13s, famously worn by basketball legend and African-American billionaire Michael Jordan during his iconic “Last Dance” season, sold for a record-breaking $2.2 million at Sotheby’s — one of the world’s largest brokers of fine and decorative art, jewelry, and collectibles.
