Ali Nuhu Mohammed is a Nigerian actor and director who acts in Kannywood (Hausa) and Nollywood (English) industries.
He is considered the most famous Kannywood actor and is often called the King of Kannywood or “Sarki Ali.”

He was born on March 15, 1974. Ali Nuhu is currently 49 years old and will be 50-year-old by March 15, 2023.

His father, Nuhu Poloma, hailed from Balanga local government area of Gombe State and his mother, Fatima Karderam Digema from Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
Education
Ali attended Riga Special Elementary School, where he began his primary schooling from 1979 to 1985.
He later completed his junior secondary schooling at the Government Secondary Commercial School in Kano from 1986 to 1988.
From 1989 to 1991, he also attended the Science Secondary School Dawakin Tofa, where he earned his senior secondary school equivalency diploma.
After secondary school, he received a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Jos. He did his National Service Youth Service in Ibadan, Oyo State.
He later attended University of Southern California for a course in film production and cinematic arts.
Wife and children
Ali Nuhu is married to Maimuna Garba Ja Abdulkadir. The couple has three children.
Career
Nuhu made his acting debut with the 1999 film Abin sirri ne. He is best known for his role in Sangaya, which became one of the highest-grossing Hausa films ever.
Ali Nuhu starred in several sequel films, including Azal, Jarumin Maza, and Stinda.
Awards and achievements
He was awarded Best Actor in a supporting role during the African Movie Academy Awards in (2007).
In 2019, Nuhu celebrated his 20th anniversary in the entertainment industry. He has appeared in about five hundred movies.
He received an honorary doctorate from ISM Adonai American University, Benin Republic in 2018.
Political affiliation
He supported the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the 2023 presidential election. Tinubu won the election.

Death rumour
In 2015 the popular Nigerian actor was rumoured to have been killed by armed robbers who reportedly attacked him at his residence in Kano.
However, in an interview with BBC Hausa Service, the Kannywood actor said no such robbery occurred.
“I am good and healthy. There has never been any robbery at my residence,” he said.
He also said he started receiving lots of phone calls from people asking if he was alright.
“I am currently in Jos, Plateau state shooting a movie and in a good health.”
Allegedly tests positive for COVID-19
During the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, Ali Nuhu was rumoured to have tested positive for the virus. Ali denied the reports.
Nuhu in an interview with the BBC Hausa service tackled the Lagos state government and other health authorities over a prolonged quarantine of him and others who attended a film award ceremony in the state.
He said guests present at the Lagos Film Award included those from Kenya, South Africa and other countries, but no alarm was raised over the pandemic.
Speaking at the time, Ali said,”It has been almost two weeks now that we attended the Lagos event and therefore, I believed I am free of COVID-19 which does not require such long period to manifest.”
Besides, he said, they were asked to self isolate but no health official had visited them for any further action since then.
He said the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) had said there was no need to conduct any test on them.
He added, “The center for disease control has discovered that the person suspected to have contracted the virus, is negative, they asked us to self isolate, that they will come and conduct test on us but till date, they have not come, they must have known that this issue is a hoax.’
“The NCDC officials have asked us to continue with our normal activities.They said if we feel any strange development in our body,we should let them know.”
Rumour of marrying a second wife
There were rumours in 2014 that Ali Nuhu is set to take another wife. He however denied the reports and considering the number of years that have passed and no evidence of such, the rumour was successfully disputed.
