According to Forbes Africa, the wealthiest Africans lost a collective $3.1 billion in the previous year. The combined wealth of the continent’s 19 billionaires is projected to be $81.5 billion, down from $84.9 billion a year earlier despite adding one billionaire.
For the 12th consecutive year, Aliko Dangote, whose fortune decreased by $400 million, still retains the top spot. South African luxury goods tycoon Johann Rupert maintained his position at no. 2 despite declining $300 million from his fortune.
