Biography

Ejowvokoghene Divine Oduduru is a Nigerian sprinter and a 100-meter and 200-meter specialist.

He was born on 7 October 1996. Oduduru is 26 years as of 2022.

The award-winning sprinter holds the record of 9.86 seconds for the 100 m and 19.73 seconds for a 200m race. 

Oduduru is famous for the viral meme, “I never experedit” extracted from one of his interviews after a race.

Education

Divine Oduduru attended West End Mixed Secondary School, Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria, before heading to Texas Tech University.

Career

Divine Oduduru won gold in the 100m and 200m at the 2013 African Youth Athletics Championships. He also won the 200m at the 2013 African Junior Championships. He became a five-time African Junior Champion after winning the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay at the 2015 African Junior Championships. 

In 2014, he became the Nigerian National Champion in the 200m and won a silver medal at the 2014 World Junior Championships. 

He also ran the lead-off for the Nigerian 4x100m relay team at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Oduduru improved his personal bests in the 100m and 200m to 10.10s and 19.76s, respectively, in 2019, breaking the national record in the 200m. 

He made his debut on the IAAF Diamond League circuit in 2019 but finished last in his event.

The Athletics Integrity Unit provisionally suspended Oduduru On February 9, 2023, due to allegations of violating anti-doping rules.

As a result of these allegations, Oduduru now faces a potential ban of six years for the possession, use, or attempted use of a prohibited substance.
