The Nasarawa State Government has unveiled plans to recruit additional 1,000 teachers to ensure that pupils in the state school system get quality education.

Governor Abdullahi Sule made the disclosure to journalists in Lafia on Wednesday after hosting leaders of the All Progressives Congress from Loko and Udege Development Areas.

He explained that since his emergence as governor, his administration had recruited over 3,000 teachers aimed at boosting the standard of education in the state.

The governor assured the state civil servants of the full payment of their promotion benefits while urging the Overseers of Development Areas and Chairmen of Local Government Areas to work together in order to increase their staff salaries in line with the payment schedules.

He promised that at the end of his first tenure on May 29, 2023, all outstanding promotions benefit would have been paid at the state, local government and development area levels.

He appealed to the APC stakeholders to re-elect him during the 2023 general election, promising to bring more dividends of democracy to their doorsteps if re-elected into office.

“My administration came onboard to meet the challenges of security, especially between Maraba to Udege and Maraba to Loko, also between Loko/Ajaga/Nasarawa, but the support and cooperation of the people made it possible for the government to address the insecurity and bring back peace.

“We are also working tirelessly to attract investors into the state who will create employment opportunities for the teeming youths, so the people should be wary of the opposition political parties who may instigate them to resist private investors from having access to land resources,” Governor Sule added.

The Loko and Udege APC stakeholders expressed gratitude to the Governor for embarking on numerous projects in the areas which have impacted their lives positively, and promised to mobilise support and votes for him and other APC candidates during the 2023 general election.
