Harrysong, real name – Harrison Tare Okiri, is a Nigerian Hip-hop musician, instrumentalist, songwriter, singer, entertainer, and stage performer.

He was famous for his tribute song to Mandela, which bagged him the “Most Downloaded Callertune Award” at 2013 The Headies. 

Career

Harrysong started music at 14 when he wrote his first song for his mother, who wanted to build a career as a gospel musician.

Later, he became the choir director of his church.

In 2003, Harrysong signed a contract with the Question Mark record label and released his debut album,  Testify.

He left Question Mark after the expiration of his contract and joined Five Star music. After a few years with Five star, Harrysong left to start his label, Alter Plate Music.

In 2013, Harrysong released a single as a tribute to Nelson Mandela. This single shot him to prominence and gave him a place in the Nigerian music industry.

Later in 2017, he released another hit single, Better Pikin, which gained a lot of playtime on radio stations across the country.

Some of his other hit singles are “I’m In Love”, “Taiye & Kehinde”, and “Reggae Blues”. 

Marriage

Harrysong is married to Alexer Perez Gopa, and they are blessed with two children – Perez & Tare
