Top 10 Most expensive engagement rings

Love is a beautiful thing, they say. Some people spend a fortune to express love by spending it on exotic jewellery.

One of your most treasured possessions is your wedding band; no matter the design or cost, it will be cherished for, ideally, years to come.

However, have you ever wondered how much the wealthy and famous spend on wedding rings? Here are the top, most pricey wedding bands ever made.

10. Anna Kournikova’s Argyle Ring: $2.5 million

Enrique Iglesias gifted Anna Kournikova with this expensive pure diamond ring in 2002.

The ring holds a spectacular diamond from the Argyle mines in West Australia.

9. Melania Trump’s Graff Ring: $2.5 million

This diamond ring was given to Melania by the former president of the United States, Donald Trump, in 2004.

However, Melania reportedly upgraded the ring to a 25-carat diamond which projected its value to $5 million.

8. Alexa Dell’s Diamond Ring: $3 million

This 12-carat diamond ring was given to Alexa, the daughter of Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell by her fiance Harrison Refoua.

Set on a thin diamond-encrusted band, the ring’s centre diamond is surrounded by smaller diamonds.

7. Kim Kardashian’s Lorraine Shwartz Ring – $4 million

This is a 15-carat white diamond ring presented to Kim by Kanye for her 33rd birthday celebration and surprise proposal in 2013

It has a platinum band with micro-pavé diamonds set in a solitaire setting. The ring has a simple design, which allows the flawless diamond to shine.

6. Vanessa Bryant’s Ring: $4 million

Late basketball star Kobe Bryant gave this ring as an upgrade to the initial engagement ring he gave to Vanessa.

The pure diamond ring was reported to be an apology ring. Since the passing of Kobe, the custom-designed ring is said to have increased in value.

5. Jennifer Lopez’s Ring -$4 million

Jennifer Lopez received this ring from Marc Anthony, her ex-husband. Jeweller Neil Lane created a gorgeous 5-carat pale blue diamond.

4. Grace Kelly’s Ring – $4.06 million

For her wedding to Prince Rainier of Monaco, Grace Kelly received a beautiful 10.47 emerald-cut diamond bordered by two large baguette diamonds. This ring, created by famed French jeweller Cartier, is still stunning after 50 years.

3. Paris Hilton’s Ring – $4.7 million

One of the most costly engagement rings in history, a 24-carat diamond solitaire surrounded by two additional sizable stones, belonged to Paris Hilton. She eventually sold the ring at auction to raise money for those impacted by Hurricane Katrina because the engagement didn’t last.

2. Beyoncé’s Octagon Ring -$5 million

For Beyoncé, Jay Z chose an octagon-cut, 18-carat, flawless diamond set in platinum. The diamond has been officially recognized as a premium and exceptional stone due to its extraordinarily high grade. It is worth a whopping $5 million.

1. Elizabeth Taylor’s Ring –  $8.8 million

The most costly engagement ring in the world belongs to Elizabeth Taylor, the Queen of pricey jewellery. The Asscher cut, Krupp 33.19-carat IIa certified diamond, is one of the largest in private ownership and was given to her by Richard Burton. The excellent diamond has a high level of clarity and is chemically pure. After her death, it was auctioned off, and an anonymous Asian collector now owns it.
