Michael Oladapo Afolarin also known as Ishaya Bello is a filmmaker, aerial photographer, and actor who is based in Nigeria. 

Mike was born on the 1st of September, 1993 in Lagos State. The young talented actor has appeared in huge film projects like “Soole” and most recently “Far from home” which earned him the name “Ishaya Bello”

Mike Afolarin attended Federal Government College in Ijanikin for his secondary education before heading to the University of Lagos (UNILAG) where he bagged a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics

Afolarin took part in a theatrical production of the play Magic Time while a student at the University of Lagos in 2013. This was his first acting opportunity.

He investigated opportunities behind the scenes by acting as Director in two short films (An Interview Story and Peace), as Associate Producer, Aerial Cinematographer, and Set Designer in films like “Ajuwaya” and “Couple of Days”, and as Assistant Director in “The 3rd Rule”.

Afolarin was also in charge of curating all aerial views for a comprehensive investment documentary produced for the Oyo State Government by Tolu “Lord Tanner” in 2018.

He rose to prominence after playing Chikodi, one of the main characters in Emamode Edosio’s ‘Kasala,’ alongside Tomiwa Tegbe, Chimezie Imo, and Emeka Nwagbaraocha. The film was directed by Emamode Edosio.

In 2019, Afolarin appeared in several short films, including ‘Stuck in Deep Mud’, directed by Charles Obi Emere, as well as “Fortunately Ridiculous” and “Blast”. Soon after, he appeared in the film “Your Excellency”, directed by Funke Akindele and produced by Ebonylife TV and Ebonylife Films. Akin Lewis and Shaffy Bello also appeared in the film.

His comic performance as Kinto in Africa Magic’s globally recognized television series “Brethren”, in which he co-starred with Daniel Etim-Effiong, Akin Lewis, and Demola Adedoyin, was largely responsible for his fan base’s growth. Afolarin appeared as Idris in the television series Red in the year 2020.

Some of Afolarin’s works, including “Far From Home,” “Soole,” “Kasala (film)|Kasala,” and “Your Excellency,” are now available to watch on the popular streaming service Netflix.
