Reactions as Wizkid apologises for failing to perform in Ghana
Wizkid, the Nigerian singer, has broken his silence over his absence at a concert he was to headline in Ghana.
The ‘Ojuelegba’ crooner was billed to perform at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.
But he failed to show up at the event, leaving many Ghanaians angry. Live Hub, the show promoter, had accused the ‘Essence’ singer of “breaching his contractual obligation”.
Several fans demanded his arrest. Reacting to the backlash in a statement on Sunday, Wizkid apologised over his absence at the concert.
He attributed the development to “safety and production issues” which he said are likely to hinder him from delivering a quality show that his fans deserve.
“Ghana is a country I hold so dear to my heart, first and foremost I wanna apologise to all my fans! Y’all know I would never do anything, without a serious reasoning behind it,” he wrote.
