J. Martins got his start in music as a young child by participating in the church choir. He started to learn how to play the keyboard, guitar, saxophone, and other instruments around that time. J Martins’ first studio album, “Get Serious,” was released in 2008.

He used to own Glorious Praise, a production company that at the time produced music primarily for gospel artists when he was still in school.

J. Martin’s path to fame began when he agreed to work as a producer for Patty Obasi (of the Nwa Mammy Water Fame), one of the most well-known gospel artists in the Eastern part of the country at the time, while still a student.

In his capacity as a producer, he collaborated with Waje and Nigga Raw, but P-“Busy Square’s Body” and “Busy Body Remix” gave him his big break. Although he had plans to leave to pursue other interests, he made do as a producer.
