How gospel singer, Sammie Okposo, died in Lagos

Nigerian gospel singer, Sammie Okposo, was on Friday confirmed dead by different sources and a family statement.
The ‘Wely welu’ singer, according to his project, Hillary Vincent, died in the morning.
His colleague, Righteousman, however, disclosed the 51-year-old singer collapsed last week upon his return from his praise party concert in the UK and was being treated for exhaustion before he eventually slumped.
“We should learn to take time to rest, Sammie Okposo was always working. I will personally miss him. He was a great singer who influenced a lot of young Nigerian gospel singers. I know how much I love his music. He served God and not man,” Righteousman said.
A statement by the family reads; “It is with a heavy heart but with total submission to God that I announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, Minister of God, Sammie Okposo.
“Sammie slept and went to be with the Lord on the morning of Friday, November 25, 2022.
“More details about the burial will be communicated soon.
“We are consoled because we know that he is with Jesus singing with angels. We kindly request that the family is allowed to grieve peacefully at this time.”
