Sammie Okposo is a gospel artist, music producer, psalmist, and music executive. 

He was born on the born 30 May 1971. Currently, Sammie Okposo is 51 years(2022)

Sammie is one of the most influential and wealthiest gospel artists in Nigeria.

Sammie started as a movie soundtrack producer in 1992 before delving fully into music production.

In 2000, Sammie hit the industry with his single, “Welu-Welu” which spread across like wildfire. It got worldwide recognition and won numerous awards.

Sammie released his debut album, “Addicted”, in 2004. This further propelled him in the industry. He then collaborated with  famous gospel singer Marvellous Odiete to make another hit, “Follow You”

In 2018, he dropped another album, The Statement, produced by the Grammy-winning Kevin Bond.

All through his career, Sammie has had the opportunity to work with other top music artists across the world.

He is also the brain behind the SOPP (Sammie Okposo Praise Party), where he, alongside other gospel artists, storm the stage to worship and sing praises.

Sammie was also a performer at the Martin Luther King Day celebration and July 4th Independence Day Celebration.

He was a Glo Ambassador for ten years and is now a United Nations Peace Ambassador.

Controversy

In 2021, Sammie tendered a public apology to his wife, Ozioma, after he admitted to cheating on her by impregnating another woman in the United States.

He took to his Instagram page to post the apology. He stated in his apology post to do everything within his capacity to regain his wife’s trust would be removing himself from all ministerial duties until the restoration has been achieved, as he believes that this is what God expects of him at the moment.
