Biography

Jeremiah Pam Gyang is a Nigerian singer-songwriter, instrumentalist, and record producer.

He was born on October 13, 1981, in Jos, Plateau State, to the late Rev. Luke Dung GGyang, a preacher and famous singer in Jos in the 1970s and 1980s.

Many people view Jeremiah Gyang as a Wunderkind because he could play the piano and guitar before the age ten.

He is credited with introducing contemporary Hausa music to Nigeria’s general public.

Education

Jeremiah attended Boys Secondary School (B.S.S) in Gindiri but dropped out in Junior Secondary School (JSS1).

Career

Jeremiah played in the on-site band at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers in Abuja as a young musician. He started producing music for artists like Age Beeka, O.D: Over Dose, Terry da Rapman, and Bouqui at Quest Media Studios in Abuja. In 2012, he issued “The Love Album,” his debut album.

Jeremiah has come a long way since his dramatic beginnings as the music director of the church choir. Critics have described his music as “a superb blend of deep African rhythms, blues, rock, and gospel.”

Songs like “African Child,” in which he describes the horrors of war, serve as examples of Jeremiah’s exceptional songwriting.

Jeremiah is credited with popularising modern Hausa music with songs like “Na Ba Ka” (I give you), a song featuring Six Foot Plus, and “Kaunar Allah” (God’s Love), a song featuring rapper M.I.

He has mentored numerous musicians in the industry in addition to singing, performing, and producing music for himself and others.

In addition, he has worked with many other well-known musicians from the Nigerian music scene, such as M.I., Asa, Skales, and many others.

Gyang has participated in many performances, festivals, events, and musical platforms domestically and abroad.

He has released a body of work, working with artists on songs like “Tambaya,” “Coming Back,” and “Girma,” among others, and he still has a ton of musical surprises up his sleeve.

Marriage

On August 28, 2010, in Jos, Plateau State, Jeremiah wed his longtime love, Ladi Otache, and they have two daughters.
