“What about the fiancee” – Reactions as the body of DSS Lady is yet to be recovered from Lagoon

The body of Adetutu Adedokun, a Department of State Security, DSS, unarmed instructor who allegedly jumped inside the lagoon along the Third Mainland Bridge corridor, has yet to be recovered.?

Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), also stated that investigations have failed to produce the driver of the car she boarded prior to the unfortunate incident.?

?He also stated that the response team’s focus has shifted from rescue to recovery, and that they are now observing the tide and relying on locals for any useful information.?


Ebitime Joshua, a fisherman at the Ebute Jetty, stated that local knowledge has shown that any living thing that finds its way into the water body sinks straight to the sea bed.? He went on to say that the food consumed by the individual involved prior to the incident usually determines recovery.?
However, the secret police have kept their mouths shut about the incident.? Adedokun, who was in her late 30s at the time, received a letter of commendation from the Director General of DSS, Yusuf Bichi, as the best unarmed combat operative in her set a few months ago.?


The victim’s fiance was also reported to have proposed to her a few weeks ago.? She jumped into the lagoon Thursday afternoon after getting out of an Uber taxi on the bridge. The taxi driver claimed she had a heated argument with her fiance before getting out of the car.?
