Biography

2Shotz, real name – William Orioha is a Nigerian Rapper, songwriter, photographer, and filmmaker

He was born on March 3 1979, in Surulere, Lagos.

2Shotz is currently based in the United States after he left Nigeria, stating being underappreciated as his main reason for relocation

The talented rapper is known for his rap flows in Igbo, Pidgin, and English.

Education

After his elementary education, 2Shotz attended Government College Umuahia for his secondary education. 

He then proceeded to Lagos State University (LASU), where he bagged a bachelor’s degree in human management and industrial relations.

Career

He joined forces with 2Ply to create the band Foremen in 1999 and obtained a record deal with eLDee’s Trybesmen in 2000.

Trybesmen hosted the release of their first record, Men at Work. The album’s promotion benefited from the song “For the Men.” After the group split up in 2000, 2Shotz inked a solo contract with Trybe Records.

His debut studio album, Pirated Copy, was released in 2004. Its foundation was made up of the singles “Carry Am Go,” “Odeshi,” and “Delicious.” That year saw the release of Original Copy, 2Shotz’s second studio album. 

His third studio album, Commercial Avenue, was released in 2007. He followed it with his fourth studio album, Music Business, which was released in 2008. 

The fifth and sixth studio albums by 2Shotz, “I Am William” and “Loud Silence,” were released in 2010 and 2016, respectively.

Later, he joined The Trybe, and in 2001, the two co-wrote the song “Oya.” In 2005, he established the record company Umunnamu Music.

A year later, he joined Obi Asika’s record company, Storm Records, but left to focus on Umunnamu Music. He stopped performing music in 2016 to concentrate on a career in photography and filmmaking.

Controversy

2shotz was reportedly involved in a messy divorce in 2015 after his wife accused him of domestically abusing her. His wife fled to Ireland with their daughter to prevent more abuse. 

Precious alleged that she was physically and emotionally abusive while being married to him.

The rapper reacted to the allegation in one of his posts, stating that he was married to the wrong person.

“So I’m here today..grateful to God..grateful for life..grateful for another year added to my life..through ups n downs…speaking of downs…lemme be a man and accept my wrongs (if any)…I accept to myself that I made a huge mistake in my life dat opened my eyes to a lot

and changed my things….being with a wrong woman and now being a father to a child I may never see against my will ..in as much as I love my child more dan my own life…..this has come to make me appreciate my family and mom n dad I wanna say i understand now…and i love u both to death for how you have raised me….may God also bless my siblings muna and chichi……” He wrote
