Police give security update on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has given update on its steps to curb the attacks by gunmen on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

NewsWireNGR reports gunmen reportedly in military uniform had kidnapped two students and Professor on the Expressway.

Days later, there was a reported attack on the Expressway with many passengers injured.

The Force Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a post on Wednesday on his verified Twitter page said; “On Lagos/Ibadan Expressway safety, the IGP had a short meeting with the DIG Operations, DIG Mustapha Dandaura today in his office to address the security challenges along the route.

“I will always work on and appreciate every observation made by Nigerians, and advise my IGP appropriately. I still want to reiterate that we cant do policing work alone, we urge Nigerians to work with us, believe in us and support the system to achieve our desired goals.“

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson on Thursday said; “The Police are doing everything possible to make sure that serious and adequate security arrangements are put in place on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway”.
