David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido and his fiancée, Chioma, lost their only male child to the cold hand of death on October 31, 2022.
The tragic event happened when the three years old child drowned inside a swimming pool at the family’s apartment in Banana Island
Like Davido, some Nigerian celebrities lost their children to the cold hands of death in the past. They include
1. D Banj

Like Davido, D’banj also lost his only kid in a drowning accident in 2018. Daniel Oyebanjo III, who turned one in May 2018, reportedly drowned in the singer’s Lagos home’s swimming pool.
To grieve his son’s passing, D’banj uploaded a dark backdrop on his Instagram profile with the statement, “Trying times, but my God is Always and Forever Faithful.”
2. Mr Ibu

Nollywood actor John Okafor, often known as Mr. Ibu, lost his kid on January 25, 2012.
On a Monday night, he lost his two-year-old son, Emmanuel Mandela Okafor, to the icy hands of death.
Following his son’s death, the actor was left in a state of sad melancholy for a long time.
3. Eucharia Anunobi

On Tuesday, August 22, 2017, Anunobi, a prominent Nollywood actress and evangelist, lost her 15-year-old son, Raymond Ekwu.
She had Raymond with her ex-husband, Charles Ekwu, in 2002, and the kid was born with sickle cell anemia. He died in the early hours of Tuesday, August 22nd, from complications related to the sickness.

This is a Nollywood actress whose character has delighted and continues to grace our screens. She lost her child, Osborne Sola, to ulcer complications. The actress also lost her husband and handled the traumatic events without breaking down.
5. Aisha Falode

Aisha Falode, ace sports broadcaster and Head of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Media Committee, lost her only son Oloruntoba in Dubai on February 15, 2014. According to Dubai police records, the 19-year-old was slain.
