Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, has told his supporters that it is insulting to mention star actress and PDP’s Lagos gubernatorial running mate Funke Akindele in his presence.

Tinubu is backing incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of APC for reelection.

Addressing the gathering in Yoruba, Tinubu said, “Don’t even behave as if you remember the name. “It is a big insult, it is an abuse. A fowl wants to enter a house, it is bending down, how tall is it in the first place.”

At a political outing in Lagos on Wednesday, his supporters had sung a campaign song, describing Ms Akindele as a political ‘ant’ compared to Tinubu’s anointed candidate Sanwo-Olu.

The presidential candidate has termed the mention of the name of Funke Akindele, the deputy governorship candidate of the People Democratic Party in Lagos, in his presence, as an insult. He said this on Wednesday when he met supporters at the Lagos APC Secretariat.

“Who is Funke Akindele before Sanwo-Olu of Lagos? She is an ant,” the supporters sang.

“Don’t even bother to mention her name in my presence. It is an insult. It is disrespectful,” Tinubu replied disdainfully.
