Meet Vicky Lopez – The Nigerian Who Was Named The Best Player Of The 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup

Victoria López Serrano Felix, fondly called Vicky Lopez, is a Nigerian-born Spanish forward on the Spanish squad at the just concluded 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India.

The Madrid Born Spanish forward emerged as the best player at the tournament. The starlet had a spectacular stint at the competition as she was an integral part of the Spanish squad that participated in the Mundial.

Aside from her spectacular performance as the playmaker of her team, Vicky also scored two goals in six matches.

Vicky, who plays for the Barcelona Female Team B, was also instrumental in the Spanish team’s victory against Columbia at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup final.

She was awarded the Player of the Tournament by FIFA’s Technical Study Group after the final fixture.

A FIFA statement released reads “Vicky impressed in every match with her ability to read the game, as well as her technical quality, dribbling and winning mentality

“From the first match to the last, she showed that she is not only an outstanding individual player but also one willing to fight for her team.”

As it is, Vicky is still eligible to play for the Nigerian team. Fingers remain crossed as we all await the decision of the 16-year-old starlet on her future.
