All vital documents are safe, WAEC reacts to fire incident at Yaba office

The Acting Head, Public Affairs, of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Mrs Moyosola Adesina, has said that all important documents and records in the council’s office in Yaba, Lagos were intact and no life was lost after a morning fire in the premises.

Minutes after the fire was put out, entry into the building was restricted to visitors, except for express permission given to a few.

The fire started on the second floor, but details of its cause still remained sketchy.

Adesina said that the fire occurred in the early hours and was swiftly put under control by a combined team of firefighters.
