Ronaldo punished for refusing to come on as substitute, trains with U21s
Manchester United player, Cristiano Ronaldo, was on Friday seen training alone after he was banished by the team manager, Erik ten Hag, over act of defiance on Wednesday night.
The club banished Ronaldo from the first team squad to U21s and he would also miss the Saturday clash with Chelsea.
It was assumed that Ronaldo’s early exit was a reaction to being left on the bench for the second time this season. But an exclusive report by Sportsmail claimed he had been told to go on by Ten Hag and snubbed his manager.
Erik ten Hag, the club’s manager, during a briefing after the 2-0 win against Tottenham, had reacted; “I will deal with that tomorrow, not today. We are now celebrating this victory”.
The club’s official statement on Thursday reads; “Cristiano Ronaldo will not be part of the Manchester United squad for this Saturday’s Premier League game against Chelsea.
“The rest of the squad is fully focused on preparing for that fixture.”
