Nollywood Actors Who Took After Their Parents

The Nigerian film industry is home to many talented people. In addition to passion and talent, it may also be connected to some actors who work in or have ties to Nollywood through their parents. They may not have had direct access to the top, but it undoubtedly provided some direction to help their acting careers compared to actors without parents in the film industry. Let’s look at some Nollywood actors whose parent actors you may not be familiar with.

1. Moji, Kunle, Aremu and Gabriel Afolayan

Adeyemi Afolayan died from complications from a stroke about 24 years ago, but his legacy endures. Aside from acting, Ade Love also worked as a director, producer, and playwright. As respected and prosperous actors in the Nollywood industry that their father helped establish, Kunle, Gabriel, Aremu, and Moji Afolayan have continued their father’s legacy.

2. Sola, Bidemi and Temilade Kosoko

Bidemi, Sola and Temilade Kosoko are children of veteran Nollywood actor Prince Jide Kosoko.

Sola Kosoko is an actress who has significantly impacted the entertainment industry, especially the Yoruba movie industry. She is the eldest daughter of Jide Kosoko, 

Bidemi Kosoko is another versatile and talented actress in Nollywood. She and Sola are sisters from the same mother. 

Aside from being an actor, Temilade is a comedian and dancer that has won many awards. She has also featured her dad in some of her comedy skits.

3. Linc and Yul Edochie

Pete, Yul and Pete are the children of another renowned actor, Pete Edochie.

Yul Edochie mirrors his father’s kind of role in movies, and it is difficult to deny the similarities between them. 

Linc Edochie, Yul’s older brother, is also a well-known actor, filmmaker, producer, and director.. Lincoln Edochie has appeared in Nollywood films since 1995.

4. Femi, Tope and Sodiq Adebayo

Femi Adebayo, also known as Jelili, is a popular Nollywood actor. He is the son of veteran Nollywood actor Salami Adebayo aka Oga Bello. Asides from being an actor, he is a Nigerian lawyer, director, and producer.  

Sodiq and Tope aka Wedee are also sons of Oga Bello. They are also actors. Tope is a director, producer and actor. He has produced movies like Sixty nine, Jelili, and Onome Aganga, amongst others. He also stars in Funke Akindele-Bello’s movie Jenifa.

5. Priscilla Ojo

Priscilla Ajoke Ojo is the daughter of popular Yoruba actress and producer Iyabo Ojo. Priscilla is also an actress, entrepreneur and model.

She started her acting career at a very tender age and featured in some of her mum’s movies.
