James Obialor, famously known as James Brown or African Princess, is a crossdresser, brand promoter, social media influencer, comedian, singer and author.

James Brown was born on February 22, 2000, in Lagos State, and he grew up in Mushin.

He came to prominence in 2018 when he committed a grammatical blunder, ”They did not caught me” during an interview after he was arrested. 

He is known to thrive on controversies, and he is a staunch cross-dresser but not gay. He refuted every claim attached to him as being homosexual.

James Brown rose to notoriety after a viral video of him saying “They didn’t catch me” went viral. This grammatical error, however, increased his popularity on social media platforms.

In 2018, James and 57 other men were arrested at a birthday party in Kelly Ann hotel/Event centre, Egbeda, Lagos. The police alleged that the arrested people were suspected to be homosexuals.

In the act of expressing not being caught in the act. He used the catchphrase, “They didn’t caught me” which later made him popular. It went so viral that popular American rapper, 50 Cent posted the clip on his Instagram page.

James also claimed in the interview that he was HIV positive, a claim he later denied stating that he said that to acquire sympathy.

However, James and the others were charged to court but were later acquitted.

However, James has been able to use the popularity to remain in the public sphere and has also attained a controversial height in Nigeria.

He has been features in several Nollywood films and online skits. James has  alsoappeared in various memes on the video sharing platform Tik Tok.

James Brown is also set to be featured in a documentary produced by HBO, an American pay television network.

Additionally, the popular crossdresser is also an author with a book to his name. His debut book, “The Chronicles Of An African Princess” was published in 2021

He was sometimes in a verbal brawl with another popular cross-dresser, Bobrisky.

James alleged that Bobrisky was trying to kill him after he was accused by latter of stealing its contents.

James however, clapped back at Bobrisky, stating that he cannot be threatened.

He, however, denied the claim stating that he said so to gain public sympathy during his arrest.
