Police to sanction female orderly for carrying Atiku’s wife’s handbag

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has commenced investigation on a viral photo showing a female police orderly carrying the bag of Amina Titi Atiku Abubakar during an event.

Ttii is the wife of Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the leading opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

A tweep who posted the picture queried the Police for accepting such ridiculing by private citizens.

“When a private citizen can turn our uniform force member into her maid, why won’t the police forget their primary duty and only dance to the tune of the elites? @BenHundeyin is this how it’s supposed to be?”

Replying in a quoted tweet, the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, condemning the action said; “This is not acceptable. We have commenced necessary action on this. We will fish her out and get across to the principal.

“The AIG Special Protection Unit has been contacted to assist us get the woman police. Gradually, we will sanitise the system.

“How can an orderly be carrying bag for her madam, i am sure the madam will have a PA, and that is the PAs job, its an absurdity and this is condemned in its totality.”

Some Nigerians however pleaded that the policewoman should only be sanctioned and not sacked for her action.

@VAGENIGERIAN: “Please… In as much you want her to be a scape goat.. Please let her not loose her job. An average working class has up to 10 dependant on their salary. Please don’t make her life miserable in the name of ORDER. Let her be punish but not scattering her life.”

@ibrahymtaiwo: “Pls don’t sack her sir …. Looking at her face, you will see she franked and doesn’t want to. Just that she lack her work etiquette and her superior order. Thanks”

Others however shared similar occurrences they noted.

@Faithysia_blunt: “Lekki runs girls ll have policemen driving them to parties, as in driving their vehicle personally as drivers, picking them up from airport for their sugar daddies and opening doors for them. And they comfortable make videos and flaunt it on Snapchat. Nigeria police don suffer”.
