As a result, celebrities spend the same amount of money on a haircut as the typical person in a week, if not a month. Similarly, the world’s greatest hairstylists are in high demand and charge exorbitant amounts for their services.

The stylists behind some of the most expensive haircuts are listed here, ranked by the price they charge for their services

5. Orlando Pita $800

Orlando Pita, a celebrity hairstylist, has a client list that includes Hollywood royalty. Julianne Moore, Julia Roberts, and Gwyneth Paltrow are among the many celebrity clients who give this hairdresser credibility. In his upscale Manhattan boutique, he usually costs $800 for a style session.

4. Ted Gibson $1,200

Hairstylist Ted Gibson had to increase the cost of a haircut from $950 to a staggering $1,200 due to the popularity and strong demand for his hairstyling services. 

Gibson has gained worldwide fame as the host of the TLC series What Not to Wear, and Renee Zellweger and Anne Hathaway are reputedly among his famous clientele.

3. Rossano Ferretti $1,600

Among Ferretti’s famous clients who vouch for his distinctive and cutting-edge haircutting method is Angelina Jolie.

He has also done the hair for models in upscale fashion shows by designers including Armani, Dior, and Yves Saint Laurent. 

Rossano has established a reputation for being among the best, and his name is displayed in many upscale hair salons worldwide. Instead of cutting the hair and then moulding it, Ferretti’s unique approach focuses on pleasing a person’s face through the natural fall of a cut.

2. Stuart Phillips $16,000

Stuart Phillips is a British celebrity hairstylist who has been patronized by top names like Jamie Oliver, Jean Claude Van Damme, and Benicio Del Toro among his customers. None of them, however, had spent as much money on a haircut as Italian property developer Beverley Lateo who paid $16,000 for a regular cut, which usually costs $300 at Phillips. 

Of course, Phillips’ day-long salon experience included not only the haircut but also a champagne lunch, head massage, and personalized hair products. The total fee included Lateo’s flight and limo service.

1. Ken Modestou $23,000

The Sultan of Brunei has no qualms about spending outrageous sums on haircuts. He pays his favourite stylist, Ken Modestou, $23,000 a week to travel halfway around the world for a haircut. 

Modestou works at the Dorchester hotel in London, and a haircut from him is not very expensive. Still, the Sultan regards the stylist so highly that he pays for all of the stylist’s expenditures in Southeast Asia every week.
