Tension as gunmen attack police station in Oyo

Gunmen have attacked a police station at Iganna, a town in the Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oyo State.

According to a report by The Punch, the attack happened on Tuesday night triggering anxiety in the area.

A source quoted by the report said, “Two persons were killed, including a police officer but you know it’s only a doctor that can confirm if someone is dead or not.

“The crisis is within the people in the town and not herdsmen attack.”

Speaking on the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Adewale Osifeso, said, “Investigation has commenced into the matter. Updates would be provided accordingly.”
