Blaqbonez (real name Emeka Akumefule) is a Nigerian rapper, text battler, singer, rap battler, and songwriter.

He was born on 29 January 1996. Currently, Blaqbonez is 28 years old(2022)

Emeka, a native of Imo state, is known for blending Yoruba and English in his rap. He is currently signed to 100 Crowns, an offshoot of Chocolate City.

He is also famous for his public acclamation of being the “Best Rapper in Africa” (abbreviated as “BRIA”).

Blaqbonez was profiled as one of the new guards of Nigerian music by The New York Times in 2019.

His music style takes an unorthodox approach with a blend of humorous personality.

Blaqbonez started rapping at a younger age before rising to prominence when he won Terry Tha Rapman’s Zombie rap competition in 2012.

In the same year, he also featured alongside top Nigerian musicians, including Olamide, Vector, Mode 9, and Spellz, in a mixtape titled “World Domination.”

Later, he emerged as a first runner-up in Vector’s King Kong competition, 

He also won the Rhythm FM Freestyle Fury and also clinching the artiste of the month recognition 

Blaqbones then released a mixtape, CTAT “Cssette Tapes and Tvs” which grossed over 60,000 engagements in streams and downloads.

In August 2018, he released an EP,  Bad Boy Blaq. A reissue of the EP, titled Bad Bloy Blaq Re-Up, was released in February 2019.

Blaqbonez followed this up with another EP, Mr Boombastic, in October 2019. Twenty-four hours after the release of the EP, he dropped a single, “Jesus Is Black (Letter to Kanye West).”

He then dropped an album, Sex Over Love, in 2020. The 14-track project featured songs like “Bling” featuring Amaarae and Buju, “BBC (Remix)” featuring Tiwa Savage, and “Haba“. Other artists featured on the album include Nasty C on “Heartbreaker“, Joeboy on “Fendi“, Bad Boy Timz and 1Da Banton on “Faaji“, Laycon, Psycho YP and AQ on “Zombie” and Superboy Cheque on “Best Friend. “

Blaqbones reportedly fell out with skit maker come, singer, Efe Carter when the duo came for each other. Carter Efe slams Blaqbonez following an accusation that Emeka hated him over an issue arising from his hit single ‘Machala’.
