Tolulope Adesuwa Etomi, popularly known as Adesua, is an actress and singer.

She was born on February 22, 1986, in Imo State. Adesua is 36 years old as of 2022.

She is one of Nigeria’s A-class actresses at the moment with her unique acting prowess.

She is married to Banky W, a famous rapper and music executive.

Adesua attended Corona School in Victoria Island, Lagos, before proceeding to Queen’s College, Lagos.

She then proceeded to the UK to obtain a diploma in “physical theatre, musical theatre, and performing arts” from City College Coventry.

After her sojourn at the City College, Adesua headed to the University of Wolverhampton to study drama. She ended up graduating with triple distinctions from the university.

Adesua started acting in her primary school days as a drama group member.

 While in college, she participated in some theatre productions, which included The Crucible, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Miss Saigon.

After she graduated from university in the UK, Adesua returned to Nigeria and delved fully into acting.

In 2014, she featured in her debut movie, Heaven’s Door, a movie produced by Emem Isong.

The success recorded by this movie led her to a breakthrough in the Nigerian movie industry as she got featured in other more significant projects like Sugar Rush, 10 Days In Suncity, Couple Of Days, Up North, Muna, Memoirs Of 4, Malika: Warrior Queen, King of Boys, and Wedding Party 1 & 2, among others.

Throughout her acting career, Adesua has had the opportunity to appear on screen with some of the top names in the movies industry like Sola Sobowale, Ali Baba, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Ireti Doyle, Tina Mba, Ayo Makun, Banky W, Adeolu Adefarasin, Paul Sambo, Reminisce, Kemi Adetiba, Daniel Akinmolayan, O.C Ukeju, Somkele Nyamah, Beverly Naya, and Kehinde Bankole amongst others.

She has also featured in several TV shows and theatre production.

Adesua is also into music under the stage name ‘Susu’. She had a single titled ‘So Natual’ produced by Cobhams Asuquo.

She also had a cove of her husband’s hit song “Strong Thing”. Which she remakes as a tribute to him.

Controversy

Adesua was caught up in a controversy when netizens came for her after her contribution in an interview with her husband on  Ebuka Obi-Uchendu’s show.

On the show, her husband, Banky W, revealed about working with Wizkid and explained that Wizkid still owes EME records 3 albums as he left before the contract ended.

However, Adesua weighed into the discussion, and she was faced with backlash from audiences who accused her of interjecting into a matter she knew nothing about.

Some netizens came to her defence, saying there is nothing wrong with the actress lending her voice to back her husband.
