Video: Calabar metropolis goes into total blackout again after a fire gutted the TCN Power Sub-Station

Calabar and its adjoining towns in Cross River State may be plunged into long-term darkness following a fire which gutted the multi-billion Naira power line of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, in Adiabo area of Calabar.

The cause of the fire which ravaged the 330/132 KVA sub-station at Ikot Nyong in Adiabo, Calabar, which delivers power from Alaoji, could not be ascertained at the time of this report.

The incident has left residents of Calabar and environs without power for the last two days, leading to a disruption of economic activities in the state capital.

The Federal Government completed the power project in 2014 to improve the electricity supply in the state, including the Economic Processing Zone EPZ, which has also been affected by the latest incident.
