Actor ‘Ogogo’, Taiwo Hassan: Biography, family, movies, net worth and more

Taiwo Babajide Al Hassan, famously known as “Ogogo” is a Yoruba movie actor, director and producer.

He was born on October 31st, 1959, in his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State, to Taiwo Subaru Akande and Halimat Ayinke Jenrade.

He is from a family known to have twins in high numbers. Taiwo has a twin brother, Kehinde. His father is a twin, as well as his grandfather.

Ogogo, currently 63, is known for his action-filled protagonist role in movies. He has since been a household name among Yoruba movie lovers.

He was brought to the spotlight for his notable roles in movies like Omin, Bolode o’ku, Obinrin Sowanu, amongst others.

Alhaji Taiwo Hassan attended Yaba Technical school in Lagos where he was trained as an automobile technician. He was later employed as an auto-mechanic at the water corporation. While working at the water corporation, Ogogo does acting on part-time under the tutelage of Awo Ademola Fagbemi.

In 1994, he resigned to focus fully on acting.

Ogogo has featured in more than 100 movies and has won awards, and has been nominated for numerous others. He is a proud recipient of the City People Movie Lifetime Achievement Award.

He is reportedly a polygamist with two wives; Ajoke, Taibat and his marriages are blessed with six(6) children:

In June 2022, the actor was seen in a viral video beating somebody up who was alleged to be an urchin who harassed him while on set for a movie in Ilaro, his home town.

He, however, explained on his Instagram page that he was in a brawl with a tout who demanded money from him at a movie set even after giving him what he could afford.

He said, “Before bloggers pick this up, let me tell my side of the story and truth. Was in Ilaro my hometown, for an inspection of a project, after which some unknown guys walked up to me for the normal appraisals.

Accept all we offer when we do. Remember, once a boxer always a boxer”.
