Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote attends the funeral of Nduka Obaigbena’s mum in delta

Date:

Nigerian billionaire business magnate, Aliko Dangoteon Saturday, attended the burial ceremony of Margaret Obaigbena, late mother of Nduka Obaigbena, chairman of Thisday and Arise News.

The founder and current chairman and CEO of the Dangote Group, the largest industrial conglomerate in West Africa whose net worth is estimated at around US$19.6 billion as of 20 August 2022 was not alone at the funeral.

Bola Tinubu, former governor of Lagos and presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Saturday, attended the burial ceremony of Margaret Obaigbena, late mother of Nduka Obaigbena, chairman of Thisday and Arise News.

The burial took place in Owa-Onyibu, Delta state. In attendance were Kayode Fayemi, Charles Soludo, Godwin Obaseki and Ifeanyi Okowa, governors of Ekiti, Anambra, Edo and Delta respectively. Jim Ovia of Zenith bank was also in attendance.

Positive sentiment witnessed on shares of some blue-chip firms quoted on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), Wednesday, has resulted in shareholders of Dangote Cement Plc recouping the N409 billion it lost the previous day’s trading session.

The cement firm gained by 9.96% to N265 per share from N241 the previous day adding exactly N409 billion it had lost the previous day (Tuesday, August 9) to the market capitalisation.

Further analysis showed Dangote Cement closed the day at N265 per share and N4.515 trillion in market capitalisation on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX) as against N241 per share and N4.106 trillion in market capitalisation the previous day, hence earning a gain of N409 billion or 9.96%.
