Nigeria’s star athlete, Tobi Amusan has again made her country proud at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
The 25-year-old athlete who recently clinched a World Record at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon after racing to a stunning world record time of 12.06s.
Amusan proving the World Record wasn’t a fluke won the Hurdles Gold in Birmingham.
According to the organisers; “Tobi Amusan adds a Commonwealth Games record to her world record as she takes the Gold in the Women’s 100m Hurdles!
“She stormed the race in a time of 12:30, as Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas takes Silver ahead of England’s Cindy Sember with a fantastic Bronze.”
Amusan was also part of Nigeria’s Women’s 4x100m team which won gold while setting an Area Record after crossing the line at 42:10!
With the wins, Nigeria now stands on the Medals table with 33 medals – 11 gold, 8 silver nd 14 bronze.
