“My Uncle Congratulated you in 2018 even though it was stolen” – Davido calls out Osun Governor

Nigerian singer Davido has again called out outgoing Osun state Governor over his refusal to congratulate his uncle, senator Adeleke.

The electoral commission, INEC, on July 17th 2022, formally declared Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the governorship election held in Osun State.

The INEC Chief Returning Officer for Osun, Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, who announced the result Sunday Morning said the PDP candidate scored 403,371 votes to emerge victorious.

The runner-up was the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 375,027 votes..

In a tweet, Davido asked the governor when he would congratulate his uncle because in 2018 when Oyetola emerged governor even though the win was stole, his uncle congratulated him.

“Your excellency sir @GboyegaOyetola when will you congratulate the Incoming governor of your state @AAdeleke_01 … in 2018 my uncle congratulated you even though it was stolen … do the right thing baba .. one love ??” …..

Following the outcome of the July 16 governorship election in Osun, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday filed a petition before the Election Petition Tribunal sitting at the State High Court, Osogbo.

The petitioners who were seeking justice challenged the results of the election in some of the Local Government Areas and prayed the Tribunal to return their mandate to them.

This is even as the first petitioner,  Governor Oyetola was physically present at the Tribunal to sign the petition filed before the tribunal.
