PHOTO: PDP supporter celebrating Adeleke’s win accidentally shoots himself

A man identified as Sunday Akingbala, who is said to be a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporter and member of Amotekun, has reportedly shot himself while celebrating the victory of Osun governor-elect, Ademola Adeleke.

The shooting is said to have occurred in Ile Ife, Osun state on Sunday.

The man was taken to the Seventh Day Adventist Church hospital in Lagere, Ile Ife, but later referred to Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital.

NewsWireNGR had earlier reported that the candidate of the PDP, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, was on Sunday declared the winner of the Osun governorship election, held on July 16.

Announcing the results at the INEC Collation Centre on Sunday in Osogbo, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, who was the returning officer, said that Adeleke polled   403,371 votes to defeat his closet rival, Gov. Gboyega Oyetola, the candidate of the APC, who scored 375,027 votes.
