He is considered to be one of the best players in the world and amongst the greatest African players of all time. He will officially join the Bundesliga club Bayern Munich on 1 July 2022.

Herbert Hainer, FC Bayern president disclosed this on Wednesday  “Sadio Mané is a global star, who underlines the appeal of FC Bayern and will increase the attractiveness of the Bundesliga as a whole.”

“Fans come to the stadiums to see such players. It’s great that our board led by Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidži? have managed to sign a player like Sadio Mané for FC Bayern.”

The Senegalese expressed his elation at arriving at a club he had long admired

“I’m really happy to finally be at FC Bayern in Munich. We spoke a lot and I felt a big interest from this great club right from the beginning, so for me, there were no doubts” Mnae said.

“It’s the right time for this challenge. I want to achieve a lot with this club, in Europe too. During my time in Salzburg, I watched a lot of Bayern games – I really like this club!”

In 2016 Mane signed for Liverpool, with whom he won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in 2019.

He also played a leading role in the English giants’ long-awaited Premier League title in 2020. Last season Mané collected the EFL Cup and FA Cup, as well as being a runner-up in the Champions League and Premier League.

The forward made a total of 269 competitive appearances for the Reds, scoring 120 goals.

Here are some top facts about Sadio Mané you probably never knew.

Mane, in his first season with Liverpool, was announced as the PFA Team of the Year after scoring 13 league goals. Even after missing the latter part of the season in May 2017, he was awarded the Season’s Player.

In 2017 with the start of the new season, Mane became Player of the Month after scoring in each match. Besides, in his game against Manchester, he was given a red card, which later resulted in a three-match ban.

In 2019, Liverpool won a UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea. Firstly, the match ended with a draw of 2-2, but later, at penalty shooting, Liverpool won the game by 5-4. Likewise, Mane was announced as the Man of the Match.

In January 2020, Mane was announced as the African Footballer of the Year, whereas after El Hadji Diouf, he is the second Senegalese player to win that award.
Angry fans have once attacked Sadio Mane’s home after he missed a vital penalty at his country’s nations cup match.

Sadio Mane’s biggest inspiration to become a footballer came from the big excitement of 2002 during the World Cup, where his country, Senegal, got to the quarterfinals in their first appearance at the showpiece.

Sadio Mane began his international career as a part of the Senegal team at the 2012 Olympics. He played quite well, and led the team to the quarterfinals, where Mexico eventually eliminated them. He next played at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations and later at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

Sadio Mane was born on 10 April 1992 in Sedhiou, Senegal. He grew up in a small village in Bambali, located south of Senegal. He lived with his uncle’s family as his parents already had many children and could not financially provide for him. He endured an impoverished childhood but harboured big dreams for the future.

Mané was cited as one of the top 100 most influential Africans by New African magazine in 2020.

Mane has donated £250,000 to fund a secondary school and is often spotted at the construction site to check the site’s progress. Sadio gifted 300 Liverpool shirts to his hometown children to wear in the Champions League Final.

Sadio loves cars and has a wide variety of vehicles. He drives Bentley Continental GT, ranging from 3.6 million starting price, Mercedes AMG G63, G-Wagon, Audi RA7, and a luxury Range Rover.
