Who is Hadi Sirika?

Hadi Sirika fully named Hadi Abubakar Sirika is a Nigerian Politician who was a former member of the House of Representatives (2003-2007) and a Senator for the Katsina North Senatorial District in the year 2011.

He’s a Minister of Aviation of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

He hails from Dutsi which is a local government area in Katsina State in Northern Nigeria.

Having just joined the All Progressive Congress (APC) which was just newly merged in 2015, he was appointed as the Minister of State for Aviation and upon Buhari’s re-election in the year 2019, he was appointed the Minister of Aviation.

Controversy

There is an allegation that Hadi Sirika has been using his power and authority as a State Minister of Aviation to bring in his unqualified favourites into the ministry through dubious methods.

It was said that people who were called to commence training were completely different from people that were interviewed. Furthermore, this set of people was far above the required age for employment which is 30 years.

There was also an accusation by the chairman of Westlink Airline, Captain Ibrahim Mshelia, about the level of secrecy that is put in place by Hadi Sirika regarding Nigerian Airlines that was proposed to start functioning by April 2022.

The captain said that Hadi Sirika is trying to build the airline in his own name and making use of Nigeria’s funds which he has no right to.
