Who is DJ Cuppy?

DJ cuppy, real named Florence Otedola was born by Mrs Nana Otedola, on the 11th of November, 1992. Her father, Femi Otedola, is no one else but the popular Nigerian billionaire.

Born into a family of five, she’s the first child of her dad’s second wife, Nana and she’s the immediate elder sister of Temi Otedola and Fewa Otedola, her brother. 

Tolani Otedola is her elder sister. She’s the child of her father’s first wife, Olayinka Odukoya.

DJ Cuppy Education 

She lived in Ilupeju for six years before relocating with her parents to Ikeja where she attended Grange School, Ikeja.

At age 13, she was sent to a boarding school in the United Kingdom (UK) to complete her education at the Secondary School level and obtained her GCSEs and A-Levels certificates. To prevent her from being homesick, she was gifted an iPod with Nigerian music.

DJ cuppy bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from King’s College, London, in 2014.

She has a Master’s degree in the music business from New York City in 2015, and as of 2022, she’s running a Master’s program in African Studies at Oxford University, England.

Life Achievements

Her walk to music started in 2013, at 18 years of age. She picked an interest in Disc Jockey and watched world-rated DJs perform.

She started her first business at the age of 22.

DJ cuppy was a DJ at the MTV Africa music award and since then, had performed on many special occasions, such as Buhari’s inauguration in 2015.

Young Florence officially launched her music career in Nigeria in 2013. Florence was already one of Africa’s top-rated DJs when she won the MTV Africa Music Awards in 2014 at the Durban International Convention Centre (ICC Arena).

In the same year, Florence performed at London’s Tatler and Christie’s Art Ball and the Financial Times Luxury Summit in Mexico City.

She was appointed by Nigeria’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation (Edem Duke) as the tourism ambassador for the country’s “Fascinating Nigeria” campaign.
